Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026. This is a placeholder policy for the Ocufolio
platform and is not legal advice.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ocufolio, Inc. ("Ocufolio", "we", "us") collects
when you use our aggregated stock news and research and trade-reporting service, how we use it, and the
choices you have. By using Ocufolio you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your username, display name, email address, a salted
hash of your password (never the plaintext), and any biography you choose to add.
- Trade reporting. The trades you record manually (ticker, amount, and the
server-set time they were reported) and, if you choose to link a brokerage, the holdings
imported through that connection.
- Research content. The articles, summaries, predictions, and other content
you publish or save as drafts.
- Social graph. Who you follow and who follows you.
- Settings. Your display preferences (theme, feed density) and notification
choices.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as IP address,
browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the service.
2. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to deliver the service:
- Finnhub supplies the live stock quotes used to price portfolios. We send
ticker symbols to Finnhub; we do not send your personal information.
- SnapTrade powers optional brokerage linking. If you connect a brokerage,
SnapTrade handles the authentication with your broker and returns your holdings to us. Your
brokerage login credentials are never seen or stored by Ocufolio. See SnapTrade's own
privacy policy for how they handle that data.
3. How we use your information
- To operate your account, portfolio, and published research.
- To display public profiles, feeds, and search results - note that your username, display
name, published articles, and reported trades are publicly visible to
other users.
- To calculate and show portfolio values and daily changes.
- To send notifications you have opted into and to maintain account security.
- To support advertising and API-usage features that fund the service.
Public by design. Ocufolio is a sharing platform. Anyone can browse any user's
portfolio and research. Do not report trades or write content you are not comfortable making
public. Your email address and account settings are never shown publicly.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local and session storage to keep you signed in (a session token) and to
remember display preferences such as your theme. We do not use third-party advertising trackers
in this placeholder build.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Deleted trades are retained in
your history as tombstones for transparency but are excluded from your portfolio totals. You
may request deletion of your account by contacting us; some records may be retained where
required by law.
6. Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and brokerage connections are handled by SnapTrade
so we never hold your broker credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely
secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your
personal information. To exercise them, email
doyin.arolan@gmail.com.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last
updated" date above.
